Your journey
Welcome. From zero to your own AI model.
You do not need to know anything about computers or code to start. Every new word is explained the first time you meet it.

Connect your tutor server
optionalYour progress is already saved in this browser. Connecting also saves it on your own server, so the tutor can plan your reviews and spot ideas that need more practice.
Forgot password? (run this command)
Your tutor server runs on your own computer and never sends email, so a new password is set there. In a terminal, in the zerotomodel folder, run:
scripts/reset-password.sh you@example.com
It asks for the new password twice (it is not shown while you type). Then sign in here with it. More in docs/tutor/GETTING-STARTED.md.
Stuck, or just curious?
The tutor explains things in plain words, as many times as you need. No question is too small.
8 stages · 160 lessons
The path: from your first program to your model on your phone
Lessons open one after another, so you never meet an idea before the ideas it is built on. Pick a stage to see its lessons.

The learning loop
How your tutor learns with you
- 1 · StudyYou read a lesson, watch it step by step and try the code.
- 2 · AnswerQuizzes, tasks and reviews show what stuck and what did not.
- 3 · Tutor adaptsIt explains in the way that has worked best for you, and offers help when you seem stuck.
- 4 · Mastery updatesEvery answer moves each idea towards “know well” or flags it as shaky.
- 5 · Next stepTomorrow’s plan puts reviews and weak spots first, then new ground.
- Outer loop · The tutor improvesYour thumbs up and down, and what actually helped, are used to train a better tutor model over time.
How the course works
One idea at a time. You cannot break anything.
- 01Read and watchEach lesson explains one idea in plain words, then shows it happening step by step. Pause and step back as often as you like.
- 02Try itThe code boxes run real Python right in the page. Change things and press Run.
- 03PractiseShort tasks are checked for you. Hints are there to help, not to judge.
- 04Check yourselfA short quiz; 80% passes. Wrong answers point to the exact part to re-read, and you can retry as often as you want.
- 05Unlock the next oneA lesson counts once the one before it is passed. You can still read any lesson at any time.
